Sophie got all her hair cut off today

At least, that's how "I" feel about it.  She's happy as a clam!

Here are some 'before' pics:

During:

And after:

Her last donation cut had a bit of layering at the bottom, so that's why the ends look so scrawny.  The bulk of the good hair measures a foot tho!!  She's donating to Pantene again.

American Girl stuff for donation

I was asked by our pastor's wife if I would make 2 outfits for American Girl Dolls.  Their son is going on a mission trip to China this summer.  They are holding a Chinese dinner and silent auction.

Summer dress with matching purse.

Nightgown and matching sleeping bag (with attached pillow)

If I end up opening an etsy shop, how much do you think I should sell items like this for??

It beat us

Sorry Kris, that puzzle beat us.  We were stuck and finally admitted defeat.
Maybe next year... LOL!
In the mean time, we're going to get out the World Map Puzzle or one of the eency ones.  We WILL finish one, I promise!!!!

Today's letter from Jake...

Jake's not feeling well, mentally and physically.

We got a letter today. He's not healing well from his 2 wisdom teeth being extracted, popped a few stitches. His asthma has been bothering him he'd said before and he suffers from shin splints. "I'm just tired of being unhealthy."

He's afraid his inability to concentrate on studying will hold back his graduation. (ADD but without meds since being a Jr. in highschool)

He smarted off to one of his uppers, telling him that swearing at the men doesn't mean he's a bigger man than they are, and that he messes up too.

I think he's a little upset cuz he really had wanted to change his training job, but now says he can't train for something other than his original job for 2 years. So, he'll train there at Great Lakes where he is for bootcamp for culinary for 7weeks, then go to Groton, CT for 6 weeks of sub training. Then, stationed?? Says he'll know nearer graduation. If it's contintental US he'll get 2wk leave, of not 3wk leave before heading to his station. For how long?? Says he gets an extra wage for sub pay tho.

Says he's finally eating better, but that cuz of the punks in his division noone can ever have desserts Says he eats entree peanutbutter sand, soup, oatmeal for every meal and banana and apples.

So, please keep praying for him.

Heard from Jake

We each got a letter from Jake today. He sounded good.  Said he's got shin splints and was put on modified light duty because of it.  He passed a test so is now an E-2.  Said this week is 'Heck-Week.' Well, you know what he really said....  He was NOT looking forward to it!!  Hopefully he's doing  well.

He's had 2-3 asthma attacks he said, but he has just slowed down a little when it happens and has worked through them.

Sophie is writing him bits of story she's writing each letter she sends.  He was sweet enough to tell her the stories make him smile and to, "keep 'em comin'."   He told Christian to be good and to stop getting grounded LOL!!

He's allowed to invite 4 people to graduation.  He decided on us (the kids don't count in that tally, so the 4 of us only count as the 2 adults,) his ex-step-dad and the lady of the family he lived with last summer and also frequently as of lately before he left.  Her son is one of Jake's best friends.  Why SHE is invited and not the son I do NOT know...  Anyway, can't wait to see him graduate and be involved in something productive finally!!!
