Christian's first fencing tournament
Christian is wearing two black socks and white gymshoes that have black tips on the toes. He was super nervous! I'm pretty sure all the other kids (high schoolers) are on school club teams... remember Christian is a 7th grader and just started fencing a few months ago (Sept or Oct?)... The adults have been there for years for the most part. So, he got 17th out of 17... but he didn't care :) He did come cose to being 16th tho! The first video was an elimination round. The 2nd video was the first 1/2 of his final. They took a break 1/2 way through, so that's why I only got the first 1/2. The eliminations were whoever makes it to 5 points first; I think he did 6 of those. The final was to 15 points. He did make it to 13 points before the other person got 15. Wow, what a long ordeal! It was supposed to start at noon but got started 15min late. We walked out about 3pm.

Go Christian!!! Very gutsy of him to do that with high school aged kids!
Thankx :) He'd been wanting to join fencing for a few years but it took me a LONG time to find one that is actually within reason close. His daddy is doing it with him too, but doesn't want to enter tournaments LOL We're so blessed to have found a sport he actually likes! And, it's only $100/YEAR tuition!!! It's not so much classes (tho, they did have an 8wk class...) as practice sparring :)
