Hansel and Gretel

If you look closely you can even see them dropping bread crumbs and the bird eating them...  The pink is the same pattern, but in shadow instead of colors.  My niece LOVED it!!!!  The pics of her not in it has no tie, but I didn't know if I'd need to put it on before I had her try it on.  I totally made it up, no pattern, and wasn't sure exactly how it'd fit once it was on her.  If it were a smidge more elastic it wouldn't have needed the tie, but oh well... One pic shows it best, but in the others it's harder to tell that the hem is angled.  I would have liked to take more angles but it was cold and I didn't want niece outside toooo long... LOL

Sophie turns 13yo

My BABY is 13yo!!!  Presents were just after breakfast this year. 1st up, an itunes gift card
Note pads with her initials and gel pens
 Opening colored lined paper
 Kindle Fire with case
Hard to tell what it is, but she also got 5 sets of summer jammies

Teenagers sit around and watch Doctor Who all day on their birthday, with their cousin
 She wanted to go bowling

And to Cracker Barrel for dinner (the card her cousin made her was HILARIOUS!)

And finally, after her shower we did her cake and icecream.  Then she and her cousin watched more Doctor Who and a movie till nearly midnight.

Another dress for niece

This one is a halter-style, which she loves.  (I made a similar one last summer with also a ruffle around the neckline)  To account for last year's bagginess at the back I added elastic from center underarm seam about 1/2 way to the center back.  That fixed the problem :)  It's got a velcro closure at the back, and bow.

I actually made something for ME!

I NEVER make something for ME!  But, for my birthday my sister-in-law Janet gave me a gift card for JoAnn Fabrics.  I LOVED this fabric!! I had no idea what I was going to use it for yet... but I knew I wanted it.  I decided to make knitting needle rolls with it.  Now my needles are nice and orderly.
 My sets of 6" DPNs

Center left are short circulars. Top are longer circulars.  Right are 9" straights.

Easter 2013, and a dress

Easter isn't as much fun as it used to be when I had little kids... But, they still have fun :)  I forgot to take pictures of their 'baskets', which weren't really baskets but just some stuff put out on the sofa.  It was a chocolate pretzel bunny, raspberry Hershey Hugs, peeps on a stick, and gift cards for YoMazing.  The pictures are from mom's celebration.

First, Sophie's SURPRISE at her early birthday present from her Godparents, the Lighthouse cake she'd been dreaming of for her birthday this year.  My cousin Jessica decorates cakes so Janet hired her to make Sophie's cake.  Since she's not having a family party we decided to surprise her at Easter.  She LOVED it!!!!

 Hunting Easter eggs
A dress I made for my 8yo niece.  Guess what it's former life was?????  Sophie's old bed skirt!!!
