Halloween 2012

Well, I only got the one picture.  The kids and Tom went walking around with my brother and sister-in-law and their kids.  I got this shot when they came to our house for candy :)  Sophie is a nurse and Christian is a painter.  Nieces are Athena, chef, pumpkin and Batman. (the teen cousin stayed home to pass out candy)

Halloween Party at Civil Air Patrol

The grill for burgers and dogs wouldn't start in the hurricane-force winds (and thankfully light rain) so they all huddled around it to see if that would help.  It didn't...  Thankfully I brought sloppyjoes.  Plus they microed the dogs.
 It was a contest!
1st place went to 'Hick' (red plaid and straw hat)
2nd place went to 'Dr. Who' (blue suit jacket)
3rd place went to 'Secret Service Agent' (black suit)

Sorry Christian, 'painter' isn't original enough... maybe next year... LOL!

The whole gang.  The group is growing!! 5 of these boys are new within the last couple weeks.  I hope they stay!

More American Girl stuff

One niece will be turning 8yo in December.  She has 2 American Girl dolls and will be getting a 3rd for her birthday.  Instead of clothes (cuz I've made DOZENS of things for her sister and her) I decided to make 'stuff'.

The sleeping bag has a zipper.  I appliqued hearts on it as well.  The pillow is attached at the top, but not fully attached the other 3 sides.

The backpack is my first item with a lock-barrel.  I think I'm going to LOVE these!!

The apron is gingerbread-man fabric, since the new AG will have to be helping bake Christmas cookies I'm sure... LOL  It's hard to see it well with that nightgown I had on Molly, oops...  But, you get the idea anyway.  It has matching fabric that I made a back tie with and the fastener around the neck is red ribbon.

American Girl Nightgowns

I was hired again this year to make nightgowns for girls and their AG dolls (as Christmas presents).

This post shows 2 doll gowns done.  I don't have the girl's measurements yet...  The girls' gowns will be nearly identical.  The neckline will not be white because the girls' gowns will be elastic at the neck, so will be fabric all the way up.

Cabbage Patch outfit

I'd never made a Cabbage Patch Outfit before, but I found a reason to use my pattern finally!

Don't mind my poor OLD Rudy Clint...  He and I have been through a lot in our 30+ years together (and now he lives on Christian's bed), but I have to admit putting the old boy in a dress must have been humiliating for him.  I'm sorry Rudy, but I had to do it for the good of the photo ops...

This is 3 pieces: bloomers that are green with brown trim, a totally green dress, and a Hello Kitty pinafore with brown ruffles and brown tie.

Christian, Christian, Christian...

He called me to come down to help him.  His coat zipper got stuck so he just pulled it off like a sweatshirt.  Problem is when he went to put it back on he twisted it all up somehow!  He was laughing hysterically when I took the pics so he's all good with it... LOL

Getting ready for Disney :)

I know, this one doesn't look so great... I forgot to realize I needed to change the sewing machine setting when sewing on material I hadn't lined with fusible lining. (the top of the safari hat...)
The kids like Safari Mickey, but they REALLY like Pirate Mickey :)

I made the kids yellow shirts like above, but for Tom and mine I didn't put the safari hat on Mickey, so it's just his head in the giraffe print.

The girls have a lighter blue shirt for Pirate Mickey than the boys (which is what is in the picture).
